Take the first step: application.

If you’re considering treatment, the first step is to find the right person to discuss your difficulties with. We can help by arranging for a clinic consultant to meet with you over two sessions, where they’ll begin the process of getting to know you and finding out what you’re looking for.

Complete the Winn Clinic Application Form with some personal details and we’ll schedule a consultation with a psychoanalyst at either our Sydney or Melbourne clinic.

Applications should always be made by the person who is seeking treatment.

Consultations: what to expect.

Over the course of the two consultations, you will meet a consultant who will learn more about you, your concerns and the reasons you are seeking help.

Consultations offer a safe space to explore emotions, behaviours and patterns of thought which could be the source of distressing symptoms or troubling personality traits. Many of these can be complex and unconscious, making it difficult for those close to you to help.

Referral: Find your therapist.

Some people find these initial consultations alone are enough to help, while others need to undergo further treatment based on our recommendations. If this is the case, we can arrange a suitable professional referral.

Once referred by us, you’ll no longer be one of our patients, and you will need to arrange appointments, payment and treatment schedules directly with your therapist.

Costs involved

There will be a REDUCED fee for your two initial consultations. We’ll discuss this with you before we confirm your booking.

We don’t charge for making referrals. On referral, you will be responsible for any treatment fees which will vary based on the type of practitioner.

If the psychoanalyst to whom you have been referred is a clinical psychologist or social worker, for example, your two consultations will be subsidized by the Australian Psychoanalytic Foundation. You will be required to pay a small fee to your Clinic Consultant.

If the psychoanalyst to whom you have been referred is a medical practitioner, you will need to visit your GP to obtain a referral in order to make a claim on Medicare. There will be a small gap fee to your Clinic Consultant.

If you are unclear on the fees payable for Consultations, you should ask your practitioner for full details before proceeding.
